Q: I’m traveling this summer and want to wear sandals instead of sneakers. What are the most comfortable shoes for walking that won’t leave me with sore feet at the end of the day?
A: You wouldn’t believe how many people have this question. What you want to look for is anything that is going to give you good support underfoot and I’d have to say that Merrell is the No. 1 answer here. They have contoured footbeds and supportive constructions. You could wear Merrell shoes sightseeing on your vacation instead of sneakers and you won’t ache. They’re cute, they’re colorful and they feel great, even if you wear them all day long. If you’re the more active type or you’re going to be splashing around in creeks or the beach, sandals from Teva are perfect for you. And for dressier nights, take along Clarks Artisan Lucena Sandals. These have a nice wedge, a great fit and are really fashionable and super versatile. Go on vacation in style!

Q: Help settle an argument. My wife says men can’t wear sandals without looking ridiculous. I say there has to be something out there. Your thoughts?
A: You win, because there’s so much out there! There are all sorts of great-looking sandals and thongs that look great on men. If you’re shy about your feet like a lot of men, go the route of fishermen sandals like the Earth Coast Fisherman Sandals. They’re open and breathable, and give you that sandal feel, yet your feet and toes are still covered. For something a little more rugged, you can’t go wrong with the Crocs Yukon Slide Shoes, which still offers plenty of coverage, but are easy to slip on and off. Like all Crocs, they’re comfortable and lightweight, and even adjust so you can wear them three different ways. If you want something more casual, the FitFlop Dass Thong Sandals give you a workout with every step, meaning toned legs that you and your wife can appreciate. And, of course, there’s always a great selection of sandals from Birkenstock and Teva. It always comes down to comfort with men, so find some attractive, comfortable shoes and both you and your wife will be happy.
